MANASSAS, Va. — Community support through the Manassas City Public Schools Education Foundation is creating additional opportunities for students and educators across the division, providing resources that extend beyond what is available through the school division’s operating budget.

The foundation’s support provides opportunities that directly benefit students and educators, including financial assistance for students pursuing post-secondary education and grants that allow educators to implement new ideas in their classrooms. Its fiscal year 2026 focus areas included scholarships, community engagement, and college and career readiness.

During fiscal year 2026, the foundation invested $42,700 in student scholarships, $10,732.25 through innovative educator grants, and $36,039 in pass-through funds supporting programs and initiatives across the division. The foundation also received $1,760.60 in in-kind donations.

These investments are made possible through community partnerships and donations. Among the Foundation’s leading supporters in fiscal year 2026 were Micron, Lockheed Martin, the Manassas Volunteer Fire Foundation, United Bank, and UVA Health, whose contributions helped expand opportunities and resources for MCPS students and educators. Support also came from nonprofit organizations, foundations, families, and individual community members throughout the community.

The foundation also strengthened connections with organizations, including the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Prince William, GEMS, Team WIN, and other education foundations and community networks.

"Community partnerships make it possible to create opportunities for our students and educators that go beyond the resources available through the division," said Dr. Kevin Newman, superintendent of schools. "We are grateful to the Education Foundation and the many businesses, organizations, families, and individuals who invest in our schools and believe in the future of Manassas City students."
