Manassas, VA — Manassas City Public Schools has announced two leadership appointments, effective March 1, designed to strengthen special education services and transportation operations across the division.
Erica Loesch has been appointed Director of Special Education and Related Services. Brian Maceyak has been appointed Director of Transportation.
Loesch currently serves as Director of Professional Learning and brings extensive experience in special education, instructional leadership, and system-level improvement. She began her career as a special education teacher and has served as an assistant principal and principal of comprehensive special education services sites and public separate day programs. As principal, she led measurable improvements in school performance and student outcomes and was recognized as FCPS Region 3 New Principal of the Year. In her current central office role, she has led division-wide professional learning initiatives and strengthened inclusive instructional practices to better support students with disabilities.
Maceyak brings operational leadership experience and a strong commitment to student-centered service delivery. In his current role, he collaborates closely with transportation staff, schools, special education teams, and families to coordinate transportation services aligned with students’ individual needs and IEP requirements. His experience managing complex logistics and supervising staff positions him well to oversee safe and efficient transportation services across the division.
“These appointments reflect our commitment to placing experienced, student-focused leaders in key roles,” said Dr. Kevin Newman, Superintendent of Schools. “Both leaders understand how their work directly supports student access and success, and we are confident they will continue to strengthen services for our schools and families.”
Together, these appointments reinforce the division’s focus on operational excellence, inclusive practices, and high-quality support services for all students.
