The Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs in Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS) are once again being recognized for their excellence in early childhood education.
According to the Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) 2024–2025 VQB5 Quality Profile, every MCPS elementary school (Baldwin, Dean, Haydon, Round, and Weems), met expectations, underscoring the strength of instruction, collaboration, and care that define the division’s Pre-K classrooms.
The VQB5 system assesses how early childhood programs utilize curriculum and interactions to foster meaningful learning. Families can now explore the results for more than 3,200 publicly funded early childhood sites across Virginia through the VDOE VQB5 Quality Profile website.
The continued success of the MCPS Pre-K program reflects the division’s strong instructional leadership and the unwavering dedication of teachers, instructional assistants, and support staff who create nurturing, engaging, and inclusive early learning environments. Together, they ensure that the youngest learners in Manassas begin their educational journeys with confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning.
