With 17 years of experience in MCPS, Fisher brings valuable expertise and a strong foundation of institutional knowledge to this leadership role. She currently serves as the Director of Professional Learning, the Title II Coordinator for MCPS, and previously served four years as Executive Director of the Manassas City Public Schools Education Foundation. Her leadership has driven key division-wide initiatives, including the Teacher Education and Mentor (TEAM) program, A Cycle That Works, New Teacher Academy, Cooperative Learning, and improved onboarding practices, all of which align with Human Resources’ commitment to building a dynamic, diverse, and high-quality workforce.

“Mrs. Fisher has consistently demonstrated a clear understanding of what it takes to build and support a strong, student-centered workforce,” said Dr. Kevin Newman, Superintendent of Schools. “Her leadership has not only impacted the professional growth of our staff but has also helped shape the systems and structures that position MCPS as a great place to work and grow. I am confident she will lead our Human Resources team with vision, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.”

Throughout her career, Fisher has been recognized with several awards, including the MCPS New Teacher of the Year and MCPS Mentor of the Year. She is a graduate of Leadership Prince William and has served as an advisory board member for REACH Virginia, a statewide organization supporting new teacher mentoring programs.

In her new role, Fisher will oversee all aspects of human resource management, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations. Her transition into this role reflects her long-standing dedication to the success of every staff member and, ultimately, every student in Manassas City Public Schools.

Fisher graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, then pursued her master’s degree in educational leadership at James Madison University.
