Round Hosts Author to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage with Stories, Culture, and a Splash of Fun

As Hispanic Heritage Month came to a festive close earlier this month, kindergarten and first graders at Round Elementary had an unforgettable experience with author Tracey Kyle on October 9.

Students were immersed in two vibrant stories that celebrated Hispanic culture and traditions. First up was Pepe and the Parade: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage, in which Mexican-American Pepe learns about Hispanic Heritage through a local parade filled with music, family, and friends. Then, students laughed and learned with The World’s Biggest Food Fight! The Incredible Story of the Festival of La Tomatina, which brought to life the world-famous tomato fight in Buñol, Spain. They even got to participate by tossing crocheted tomatoes into a game board!

This unique experience brought cultural celebration and learning together in a way the students won’t soon forget.
