Nationwide Pet Insurance is now available to all MCPS employees as a voluntary benefit. If you have pets, you know how quickly vet bills can add up. Fortunately, as an MCPS employee, you're eligible for preferred pricing on pet insurance from Nationwide. You can use any vet and for less than you think, your pets can have nose-to-tail coverage for everything from shots to surgeries. Plans are available for dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets. 

As a member, what do I get?

• All Nationwide Pet Insurance members receive free, 24/7 access to vet helpline ($170 value) for guidance on any pet health concern. This service is available exclusively through Nationwide. 

• Manassas City Public Schools employees received preferred pricing on coverage for your pets.

• This plan is exclusively for employer participating groups. As an employee participating in a group plan, you get access to additional benefits not available to the general public. Some of these benefits include:

  • Prescription diets and supplements coverage

  • Emergency boarding and kennel coverage

  • Lost and find stipend

  • Life policy built into the plan (up to $500 to replace your pet in the unfortunate case they pass)

How do I enroll?

• For dogs and cats, you have the ability to call 877-738-7874 or enroll online here

• For birds and exotic animals, you must enroll via phone at 877-738-7874 and remember to mention that you are an MCPS employee

When is my policy effective?

• As an employee you must enroll by the 15th of each month to gain coverage on the 1st of the following month. For example, an employee enrolls before April 15, their pets will have coverage effective May 1. If the employee enrolls after April 15, their pets will have coverage effective June 1.

• Employees will pay for this benefit current with coverage.
