Password Reset System

The Department of Information Technology has enabled the self-service password reset process within the IT Support Ticket system for all MCPS staff and Osbourn High School students (Grades 9-12). In order to use this service, you must first set up your password recovery questions within the system. After registering, you will be able to change or reset your MCPS account password at any time.

How do I enroll in the system?

  • Log into the IT Support Ticket system (Log in using the GoogleSSO button with your MCPS username and password)

  • A pop-up message will appear notifying you to set up your recovery questions.

  • Select three questions and fill in the answers. Click the Apply button to save your entries.

How do I change my security questions?

  • Log into the IT Support Ticket system (Log in using the GoogleSSO button with your MCPS username and password)

  • Click on your name in the top right-hand corner and select My Profile.

  • Click the Update Recovery Questions button and make the desired changes.

How do I edit my profile to include my cell phone number?

  • Log into the IT Support Ticket system (Log in using the GoogleSSO button with your MCPS username and password)

  • Click on your name in the top right-hand corner and select My Profile.

  • Enter your cell phone number in the Phone: field and click the Save Changes button.

How do I reset my password?

  • Navigate to the IT Support Ticket system

  • Click the Reset your password button near the bottom of the page.

  • Enter your MCPS email address into the search bar and click the Search button.

  • Once your email address has been verified, select one of the available password recovery methods.

  • Enter your new password and click the Set Password button.

Important Notes:

  • If your password has expired and you have not yet registered with the system, you will need to submit a password reset ticket by clicking on the Contact Technical Support button on the password reset page.

  • Please note that upon changing your MCPS account password, the password for your Google account (and all other accounts synchronized with your MCPS account) will also be updated.
