Health Insurance
Enrollment is open to all regularly scheduled employees working at least 20 hours per week. The health plans are offered on a shared employer/employee cost basis. All participants in the MCPS Healthcare Program participate on a pre-tax basis wherein employee contributions will be deducted from gross wages prior to computing federal, state, and social security taxes. Premiums are paid one month in advance: i.e., premiums deducted in September are for coverage beginning October 1. All health plans are effective the first of the month following completion of a 30 day waiting period.
Manassas City Public Schools offers a variety of health care plans to choose from. Eligible employees may elect to participate in a plan with Anthem BlueCross BlueShield or Kaiser Permanente.

For those who do not need our health insurance but would like dental or vision insurance we offer stand alone vision insurance through VSP and stand alone dental insurance through Delta Dental. Eligible employees can enroll in one or both of our stand alone plans.
