Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Saving Accounts (HSA)

MCPS offers Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for medical and dependent care expenses. If you choose to participate in this valuable benefit, you and your eligible dependents can pay for medical, dental and vision expenses and dependent day care expenses on a tax-free basis. Participating in an FSA can help save you money by paying for services using pre-tax dollars.

The opportunity to participate in an Health Saving Account (HSA) is connected to an employee's enrollment in the high deductible health plan (HDHP). Funds deposited into an HSA are not taxed and can be used to pay for eligible medical expenses. HSA funds roll over and accumulate year to year if not spent.
