Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS) provides early childhood special education (ECSE) services at no cost to qualifying students who are 2 years old (by September 30) through 5 years old (students who have not yet begun kindergarten).

To be eligible, students must live within MCPS boundaries and demonstrate a significant delay in one or more of the following areas:

  • Adaptive (Self-care)

  • Social (Interacting with adults and children, emotional regulation)

  • Communication (Speaking, understanding)

  • Motor (Movement, grasping)

  • Cognitive (Learning, attention)
