Mission Statement

The mission of the George C. Round Elementary School library is to create a diverse and inclusive environment where students inquire, collaborate, curate, explore, and engage. The library serves to ensure all patrons have access to quality materials and resources, so they learn how to independently access, evaluate and apply information from a variety of sources. The goal of the Round Library is to foster personal and academic growth among all students in order to instill respectful and responsible digital citizens and lifelong learners and readers.

Library Hours

The Round Elementary School Library is open to students Monday-Friday from 9:20-4:00 unless otherwise posted or announced.

Students attend library class for 65 minutes most weeks. Library lessons include a story and/or activity incorporating Virginia Standards of Learning and the American Association of School Library Standards. Students also have an opportunity to check out books and participate in a whole class, small group, or individual "Library Space" or "Center" focusing on thinking, problem solving, creativity, and/or socialization.
