Mrs. Juliet Finnegan is honored to serve as the Principal of Metz Middle School. With over 20 years of experience in public schools, she has worked as a classroom teacher, dean, and assistant principal. She has earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Virginia and is currently pursuing her doctorate in curriculum and instruction.

Mrs. Finnegan started her career in Fairfax County Public Schools, teaching 5th grade and middle school math. After that, she continued teaching math (6th grade - Algebra) in Loudoun County Public Schools before transitioning into administration. Mrs. Finnegan advocates for project-based and inquiry-based learning and values student thinking, essential for student-centered learning. She puts a lot of emphasis on teamwork and believes that collaboration between students, staff, parents, and the community is the key to effective teaching and learning. Mrs. Finnegan is dedicated to ensuring that every student and family has access to all the school's systems and processes. She is grateful to work in a school district that prioritizes family and student academic success. Her favorite quote is, "Alone we can do so little, TOGETHER we can do so much."

Mrs. Finnegan has presented at various conferences, including the Virginia Middle School Association, the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Her discussion topics included equity, leadership, and social/emotional learning. Outside of her work, Mrs. Finnegan enjoys reading, spending time with loved ones, eating pizza, tacos, and Korean food, and vacationing in the Outer Banks.
