I have been a librarian at Mayfield since 2013, and was previously in Loudoun County. I am from Michigan via North Carolina and have been working in libraries since I was 16. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and received a master's in Library Science from North Carolina Central University. I am known for a tendency towards reading 3-4 books all at the same time!

I come from a family of educators and learned to love to read at a young age. I have worked in high schools and elementary schools for around 10 years in a teaching, teaching assistant and front office/records management capacity. I have management, retail, and customer service skills as well. I am a fluent Spanish speaker and love Latin American literature! I earned my bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in International Studies from the University of Utah in 2004 and my masters of Education in School Librarianship from Longwood University in 2021. I am known to have a book on my person at all times!
It is my first year at Mayfield Intermediate and I am excited to be a Bobcat!
