The majority of 7th grade students learn the traditional 7th grade mathematics curriculum. However, students who have completed a year of advanced math in 6th grade or who have demonstrated strong mathematical skills in the traditional 6th grade math curriculum as shown by grades, test results, and teacher recommendation are considered for Pre-Algebra or Honors Algebra I in 7th grade. Additional opportunities for students to progress in their math education in different ways are available at each grade level in middle and high school based on their progress and needs.
