Meet the Administration

Mr. Rupert

Hello Baldwin Elementary Rockets!

I am honored to serve as your principal for this school year. I began my career in Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS) in 2002, and I continue to enjoy learning and growing with each and every child. Before coming to Baldwin Elementary, I served as principal at Metz Middle School, where we succeeded academically to overturn the previous Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) "Academic Warning." Kudos to the Metz team as we worked together with a targeted goal to gain the "Fully Accredited" status for our school community. Prior to Metz, I served as the principal of Weems Elementary for five years. At Weems, we are proud to say we grew to great academic heights. We were awarded the Governor's Award for Innovation and Academic Excellence at the Governor's Mansion in Richmond, VA. We were also fortunate enough to be nationally recognized for our academic excellence by the National Center for Urban School Transformation (NCUST) as a top 24 school in the United States in 2015. Before serving as a Principal, I was an Assistant Principal at Weems and Baldwin Elementary, and my career as a classroom teacher was at Mayfield Intermediate and Weems Elementary school. Leading & coaching have always been passions of mine, and I was fortunate enough to coach Osbourn Boys Basketball (JV) and Metz Boys Golf during my time here at MCPS. My educational training comes from a Bachelor's Degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision Prek-12 from California University of Pennsylvania. I am confident that these many MCPS experiences will help push our Baldwin Rockets to new heights and be the school your child deserves! Please reach out to the front office to schedule a time to discuss any or all things Baldwin by calling 571-377-6100.

Best,

David Rupert, Principal

As an educator. I believe that teaching is a calling that I have been blessed with. The poem below uniquely embraces my philosophy about Education. I firmly believe that an Educator is responsible for the teaching morals, values, and the rights and duties of citizenship. Our roles are so vital to the fabric of our communities and this country, that we must consistently raise the bar in response to the growing needs of students in our culture.  Pursuing my dream of becoming an Educator – I graduated from University of West
Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood, Troy State University with Masters in Elementary Education / Education Specialist and Argosy University with Doctor of Education.

Serving as an Educator for over 30 years, has been a dream come true. My journey started as a paraprofessional in Polk School District (Serving 5 years as a paraprofessional), 17 years in the DeKalb County School District as an Elementary Educator, ESOL Teacher,
Teacher Support Specialist, New Teacher Mentor, Professional Learning Liaison Planner and Presenter. In Atlanta Public Schools, served as an Elementary Educator, EIP Teacher, Reading Turnaround Specialist, MTSS/RTI Specialist, and Testing/Safety/Textbook
Coordinator. In Prince George County Public Schools, served as an Instructional Lead (RELA ILT) and Reading Resource Educator.
With great honor, in 2005 I represented Clifton Elementary Magnet School as Teacher of The Year. I served three years as President and Vice President of the AAE (Atlanta Association of Educators).

My time and love is devoted to making a difference in the lives of young people and loving my family and friends.

Educationally Yours,
Beatrice Zimmerman, Ed.D
