Vision and hearing screenings
Manassas City Public Schools conducts vision and hearing screenings as mandated by Code of Virginia Law 22.1-273. This screening is completed on all students in grades K, 3, 7, 10 and all students who are new to Manassas City Public Schools. The screening is scheduled within the first 60 days of enrollment. The screenings do not diagnose vision or hearing impairments, but may alert possible deficiencies that otherwise go unnoticed and recommendations can be made for a professional evaluation.

The 2023-2024 Special Education Annual Plan is available for review and comment. The plan is accessible at each school’s main office, as well as, The Central Office Greeters Desk in Suite 400.

Review and Revision of the 2024 English Standards of Learning
The Virginia Department of Education is inviting individuals to review and provide comments about the proposed Standards of Learning for English Language Arts. It is anticipated that the standards revision will be completed by January 2024.You can review standards by grade level by clicking here.Please complete this form to provide public comment regarding the English Standards of Learning. -

Illness prevention belongs to all members of our community: teachers, staff, administrators, students, family members and the surrounding community. The Flu season has begun and Flu is currently active in Manassas City and communities nationwide. COVID-19 and other illnesses are also active in the community.
