VDOE Selects OHS Cosmetology Instructor as State Lead Teacher

November 14, 2017...Mrs. Arnaz Dotivala, who teaches Cosmetology at Osbourn High School (OHS), has been chosen by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to serve as lead teacher for the state. Her responsibilities will include coordinating updates and classes at the state conference in Norfolk and being a resource for cosmetology teachers across the Commonwealth.

Mrs. Dotivala has participated in curriculum review for the Human Services Cluster by the Virginia Department of Education for the last few years. She is also the cluster chair for the five state-wide competitions in the Human Services Cluster for SkillsUSA where she coordinates the competition scopes, judges, and prizes, and also manages the competition floor. Her dedication to the field and education of cosmetology was also noted when she, along with a few colleagues, created a Northern Virginia Group of Cosmetology teachers who meet once a month to collaborate on Cosmetology/human services programs.

Mrs. Dotivala was recognized at the November 14th School Board meeting (pictured below).
