OHS Senior is Nat'l Merit Scholarship Commended Student
February 13, 2018... Osbourn High School senior, Madeleine Seputro, has been named a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and access to special scholarships. High school students enter the program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year.
Commended students are named on the basis of a nationally applied Selection Index score and become candidates for scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
Ms. Seputro is an excellent student with a current GPA of 4.44, who also attends The Governor’s School @ Innovation Park. She plans to study Pre-Med at college and has applied to George Mason University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Rochester, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia.
