Manassas City Public Schools has implemented a comprehensive district-wide program called, “A Cycle that Works” (ACTW) to drive effective Professional Learning Communities at all levels. This program engages educators in cycles of unpacking curriculum, planning and delivery of aligned instruction, common assessment, and the use of data to inform instructional decisions using detailed processes and roles for school teams and their members. The program is supported through frequent and ongoing training, coaching, and feedback delivered by instructional facilitators in collaboration with school leaders and district-level content experts. ACTW is a key strategic priority and investment that Manassas City is using to drive positive change in our instructional practices and student learning outcomes.
