Additionally, Metz Jazz Ensemble (under the guidance of Band Director Bill Stevens) took home First Place and the Guitar Ensemble earned a Superior Rating award.
“Our Metz musicians represented Manassas well, with outstanding performances and excellent conduct and cooperation…I'm so proud of them,” commented Darlene Dawson, who is the Orchestra and Guitar teacher at Metz.
The Kings Dominion’s Festival of Music provides band, orchestra and choral students the opportunity to perform for judges at the popular Virginia amusement park. Awards are given for superior and excellent ratings. Festival of Music is open to all elementary, middle and senior high school instrumental and choral groups.
Metz Jazz Ensemble also earned a First Place (Excellent Rating) at the previous held Festivals of Music Competition at Busch Gardens on May 13th.
Congratulations to all!
