Drummond Honored as Exceptional Music Teacher
Please join Manassas City Public Schools in congratulating Cathy Drummond, music teacher at Round Elementary School, who is being recognized at the third annual "American Education Week - Honoring Our Educators" presented by the Woodbridge & Manassas Branches of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
“Mrs. Drummond is an awesome music teacher and has done a lot to integrate technology into her music classes through the use of QuaverMusic,” said Carol Hartt, who oversees Fine Arts for MCPS. “I love sitting in on her classes, and I am very proud that she is receiving this well-deserved honor.”
Mrs. Drummond also practices her own music outside of school by conducting pit orchestras for various community musical productions in her spare time. Additionally, she is trained in music therapy.
The virtual event, which will be held on Sunday, November 14, will pay tribute to educators whose efforts transform our community in STEM and the arts and will celebrate those who continue to pass the torch to the next generations of students and teachers.
Congratulations, Mrs. Drummond!
