Stomping Out Bullying at Weems

Dear Parents and Guardians,

October 22 through October 26 Weems Elementary School is celebrating National Bullying Prevention month. The campaign is held during the month of October and unites communities around the world to educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention.  Your child has been viewing daily announcements on broadcast, with topics ranging from bully prevention to empathy.  Additionally, you child’s classroom teacher is discussing the necessary steps to respond to unwanted behaviors (Stop, Walk and Talk).  Feel free to ask your student what he or she has been learning about Bully Prevention this week!

On Friday, October 26, students and staff will wear BLUE to show our awareness and support to stop bullying.  Each student will be making a heart that will say something they pledge to do to make a difference in our community.  The hearts will be hung in our school to remind everyone that we can do “just one thing” that will support one another. Remember, we are encouraging the students to wear their BLUE on Friday as we stand together to promote our united learning environment and encourage everyone to spread kindness.
