Mr. Jeff Yost
My name is Jeff Yost and I teach Math. Specifically, I teach Algebra 1 and Algebra 3 with Trigonometry.
My teaching schedule is: Algebra 1 periods B1 & G1, and Algebra 3 w/Trig periods G2, G4, B2 and B3.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Math, Gifted Education and Secondary Education from JMU. Additionally, I have a Masters of Education in Secondary Administration and Supervision from GMU. I have taught math for 20 years, been an assistant principal for 4 years and a high school principal for 7 years. I was awarded a Fulbright Teaching Scholarship. I have been a nominee for the Agnes Meyer teacher of the year for Fairfax County Public Schools. Also, I have been an adjunct professor for NVCC for two years. I have taught ever math course from Math 7 through Calculus including two International Baccalaureate math courses.
To me, the single most important component to teaching and learning is developing relationships. Positive, productive relationships lead to student success.
