Welcome parents and students,
I am originally from Bogota-Colombia, where I earned a degree in Political Science and Law from The University of Santo Tomas de Aquino. I have been in education for over 20 years, having started my career in Waynesboro City Public Schools as a Spanish Teacher and ELL Liaison with School and Community Resources. After moving to Northern Virginia, I began working at Osbourn as a Spanish teacher before becoming a Reading Specialist; I earned a Masters in Curriculum and Literacy from George Mason University. I am currently working on my certification in Educational Leadership and Administration from James Madison University.
I have worked with incredibly bright students each year who have astonished me with their limitless desire to be the best—I believe that is the reward of my job. So I am very excited to work with students and support their journey to become life-learners.
I am available for extra help after school on most days, 3:30-4:00. Students in need of extra help should talk to me at school or email me to schedule an appointment. In addition to teaching literacy classes, I work with The Eagle Writing Center, and I thrive in being a positive behavior ambassador.
The best way to contact me is via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
