Ms. Rosa Jimenez
Hello Parents and Students.
I am a native New Yorker. I've been teaching for 30+ years. My teaching experience began in Salinas, Puerto Rico. I was later recruited to work for Springfield, Massachusetts, where I worked as an ESOL specialist, assistant principal and then principal for a competency-based high school. After working for 8 cold winters in Massachusetts, I relocated to Orlando, Florida; there I was the head of the ESOL department as ESOL Compliance. Now, currently teaching English at Metz Middle School and enjoying every minute of it!
Educationally speaking, I earned my bachelor's degree in English Secondary Education with a minor in Elementary Education from the Interamerican University in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I went on to the Pontifical Catholic University for my Master of Education with a specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language. Later on I enrolled at Springfield College's leadership program in Massachusetts. There I earned a specialist degree (CAGS) in Educational Administration.
I love traveling, but most of all I enjoy visting my home, Puerto Rico. Blue is my favorite color and dark chocolate is my favorite treat. One of the things that I genuinely love about teaching is community and the ability to be able to work with the parents of my students toward making sure that their child is successful.
Each year at Metz is just as exciting as the year before as I gain new experiences from my rising 7th graders.
