Ms. Tori Savas
My name is Tori Savas and I am a 3rd grade teacher at Haydon Elementary. This will be my seventh year teaching at Haydon, and my first year in 3rd grade. I love teaching at my former elementary school! I graduated from the College of William and Mary, with my B.A. in Music and my M.A. in Elementary Education with a Literacy emphasis. I also graduated with my M.S. in Reading from Old Dominion University, and have an endorsement as a K-12 reading specialist in Virginia. I also completed my VA PK-12 school administrator endorsement last year, through James Madison University. Finally, I am currently pursuing my Ed. D. in Curriculum & Instruction through UVA, with an area of emphasis in Literacy Leadership.
I am looking forward to working with all of my students to help them become better readers, writers, problem-solvers and critical thinkers. I believe in using evidence-based practices to best support the learning of my students. I have high expectations for all of my students, and I cannot wait to help them work hard, grow as citizens, and succeed in both their academic and personal lives this year.
