Ms. Johnson
Hello there! My name is Josie Johnson, and I am an Adapted Curriculum Special Education Teacher Associate at Jennie Dean Elementary.
I came here from Round Elementary, and this will be my fourth year with MCPS. Previously, I worked at a private preschool for two years. I have worked in the self-contained, structured, Early Childhood Special Education, inclusion, and 1:1 Special Education settings as an Instructional Assistant, and now I get to be the teacher! I co-coached First Lego League for two years at Round, and also created an unofficial Recess Art Club for fourth graders inspired by my student who was unable to physically play with her friends at recess.
I have three associate’s degrees from Northern Virginia Community College under my belt (Interactive Design, Communications Design, and Psychology), and am currently launching off of a Bachelor’s in Psychology to complete the Accelerated Master’s Special Education program at George Mason University with my concentration in the Adaptive Curriculum. At home, I have my fiance Jerry and three-year-old Siberian Husky Tifa to keep me company.
