Mr. Andrew Wilson - Principal

Andrew Wilson was appointed principal of George C. Round Elementary by the City of Manassas School Board effective July 3, 2018.  Mr. Wilson served as an Assistant Principal at Osbourn High School for 4 years and prior to that served as a Dean of Students at OHS for 1 year.  Before joining Manassas City Public Schools in 2013, Mr. Wilson served as a Dean of Students and Special Education Teacher at Fall Church High School in Fairfax County. Mr. Wilson’s teaching experience includes special education mathematics as well as the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program while at FCHS. 

Mr. Wilson is the proud father of three children, Aila, Zoe, and Van.  He, his kids, and his wife Kristina love to travel and experience new things.  Mr. Wilson also enjoys sports, music, gardening, cooking, culture, and just spending quality time with family and friends.  Please mention your hobbies and interests when you see him because he is looking forward to learning more about you.

Ms. Marie-Monique Tambu- Assistant Principal

Marie-Monique Tambu joined Manassas City Public Schools by way of her appointment as the assistant principal of George C. Round Elementary School. A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Ms. Tambu has been working in education since 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from George Mason University. Her educational and professional experience along with being multilingual enabled her to teach students from several different demographic groups and cultural backgrounds that included working with special-needs groups, English Language Learners, and gifted students. Her leadership roles included serving as English teacher, department chair, mentor, grade level leader, and collaborative team leader mainly at the middle school and high school level.  

Ms. Tambu is passionate about people, learning, and leadership. She prides herself on building strong relationships with the school community, thus motivating others to be successful. 

In her spare time, Ms. Tambu enjoys reading, playing piano, cooking, and traveling!

Ms. Tambu is excited to be working at Round Elementary School! She looks forward to working together to build a strong learning community for students, families, and staff so please share your ideas for school and community engagement with her.
