My name is Andrea Martens and I am so excited to be joining the Baldwin Elementary family!  After more than 20 years working with horses (teaching riding lessons to students of all ages, training horses, and managing barns), I decided I needed a change.  I completed the Career Switcher Course through Virginia Community Colleges in 2011 and I am about to embark on my 12th year of teaching ESOL. My first eleven years were spent in Fauquier County, where I taught English Learners in grades Kindergarten through 5th.  

I still live in southern Fauquier with my spouse, my dog Annie and my two cats, Moxie and Goose.  In my free time I love to hike with Annie, take pictures, travel, and read across many genres.  I love to learn new things and to share them with others, and I know we'll have a wonderful time together.

I speak English and basic Spanish, but I'm working on improving my Spanish fluency as I think being bilingual and biliterate would be amazing!
