I teach 7th Grade World Geography at Metz Middle School. This is my second year teaching at Manassas City Public Schools, but my fifth year in education. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Geography from Kansas State University in 2014 and my Masters of Science in Geography with an emphasis in Biogeography in 2016. With my background in physical geography, my teaching philosophy is for students to evaluate how Earth's natural processes are impacted by human influence. Moreover, I incorporate a project-based learning approach into my classroom, where students learn through real-world problem solving to make their education exploratory and personalized. I challenge students to think critically and be 21st century learners so that they aptly contribute to society in whatever trajectory their life takes.
