Mrs. Kellas

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

Mrs. Kellas started with MCPS in 2001, and has taught at all levels, including kindergarten and high school math. This is her 16th year teaching 6th grade. She is a career switcher and has taught math methods for the Virginia Community College System. She sets high expectations for herself and her students, and she works hard to help each student achieve their full potential. She has lived in the city of Manassas for over 30 years. She considers it a privilege to work with the young people of Manassas every day!  Her husband also works for MCPS in transportation, and they have 2 adult daughters that both attended MCPS schools. Her interests include reading, working in her garden, and traveling to spend time with her family.

What motivates Mrs. Kellas?  "I'm here to make a difference...to support those who struggle, to cheer up those who are sad, and to bring hope to those who are frustrated."

Her favorite quote, by Albert Einstein, is, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." She hopes to build a positive relationship with every student as she works to empower them for the future.
