Mr. Eric Godwin

My name is Eric Godwin and this will be my third year teaching at Grace E. Metz Middle School, but I will be starting my 10th year teaching overall. This year I will be teaching 7th Grade Life Science and Honors 8th Grade Physical Science.

I am originally from Dunn, North Carolina and graduated from the University of Mount Olive in May of 2011, with my bachelor's degree in Agriscience Education. On June 15, 2011, I was hired as the Agricultural Education teacher at Columbia Early College High School where I taught 8th-12th Agriculture. While I was there I taught Exploring Biotechnology, Exploring Agriscience, Agriscience Applications, Agricultural Mechanics 1, 2, and Small Engines. In 2014, I graduated with my master's degree in Agricultural Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. On July 1, 2015, I was hired as the Agricultural Education Teacher at Washington High School. While at Washington, I taught Horticulture 1 and Horticulture 2-Landscaping; Agriscience Applications, and Animal Science 1 and 2. On July 24, 2018, I was recognized as the North Carolina Agricultural Teacher's Association 2018 Northeast Region Agriculture Teacher of the Year. I am also the 2020 Manassas City Public Schools Outstanding Secondary Mentor of the Year. 

I enjoy spending time with my wife Channing, who is from Manassas, and my family and friends. I am a new dad to Lucas Smith Godwin who was born on 9/5/2020. I am a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Washington Nationals and Charlotte Hornets. I also love to hunt and fish.
