Dear parents and students,
I am very excited to be working with you this year! This is my 10th year of teaching in Northern Virginia. I have been an ESOL teacher in Prince William County up until this year. I finished my Masters in English here at George Mason University. I am in education because I want to open the minds of little inovators and ignite the language wizards!
I was born and raised in Europe. I lived until after college in Bucharest, capital of Romania. I am half Romanian and half Albanian (from my father's side of family). My father's family were immigrants in Romania after the second World War. I witnessed many languages growing up: my mother was a high school French teacher and I learned English in Europe as a Second Language. My grandpa from my mother's side was a prisoner of war in World War 2 and he was a PE teacher. I lived my childhood during the rough communist regime in Romania.
I am happy to be here with my family: my son is 10 year old and my daughter is 8. We speak Romanian at home, we read read, write and travel around in Virginia! I love writing the most because it enforces who we are, it tells our story so I cannot wait to use it with my students this year!
Tell your story this school year! Go 4th grade!
