Mrs. Sylvia A. Copeland
My name is Sylvia Anria Copeland, I was born in Panama City, Panama. I am bilingual and my first language is Spanish. I am married with a wonderful family, which includes my loving husband George who I have been married to for 28 years this past April. Together we have two beautiful children, Christopher who is 21 years old and Lauren who is 14 years old. My desire to become a teacher began when my son Chris started to become cognizant of his surroundings and I recognized, in his tiny eyes, the desire to absorb information. As Chris grew older and more curious, so did my eagerness to make sure he had the proper guidance and learning tools he would need in these very crucial years of his educational formation. I wanted the very best for my son and soon I realized I had developed a passion for teaching and that I wanted to provide a service to my community by applying the love I have for children and their learning environment and by caring for their children in the same manner I would my own. I have been teaching for twelve years as an ESOL Teacher in Northern Virginia and this is my fourth year in Manassas City Public Schools, and I love what I do. I love teaching children and I hope that I can do this for a long time.
