The 20202021 school year is my fourth year at Baldwin. We made it through last year, which was very challenging, and I am very excited to be returning to Team Baldwin! Teaching special education students in kindergarten thru 2nd grade has been extremely rewarding. I have a wonderful team of teachers to work with and together we were able to make huge progress with our students! In the past 33 years I have worked one year in Culpeper County Schools as a SPED teacher at the elementary level, and then 18 years as a full time SPED teacher with Prince William County Schools in both elementary and middle school levels. While my three grown children were in middle school, I was working as a substitute teacher in PWCS as well as other jobs that allowed me to spend more time at home with them. In 2012 I returned to full time teaching in the Autism classroom and then moved to MCPS in 2018.
I became a Mimi in 2018, and this past summer my granddaughter was able to join our whole family on a week long vacation in the Outer Banks. It was a delight to see her enjoying some of the same experiences her dad and aunts had when they were young. Her daddy, my son Ethan, works as a music therapist for a hospice and graduated from Shenandoah University in 2014. My middle daughter, Abby, finished her master's degree at Liberty University and is a Children's Ministry Director at a church in Maryland, and my youngest daughter, Emma, and her husband live in Maryland as well. As we begin this school year I am looking forward to another fantastic year of learning and growth from all of my amazing students and hope that we will be able to stay in person throughout the entire year!
