Mrs. Lurlene Nestor
Welcome to Osbourn High School! My name is Lurlene Nestor. I teach Literacy 1 and 2, here at Osbourn High School. I have worked with the Manassas City Public School for a number of years. However, this is my second year at Osbourn High School. My teaching career started in Georgetown, Guyana. In Guyana, I attended the Cyril Potter College of Education, where I received my teaching certification. After teacher training, I taught for more than fourteen years at the high school level (middle school embedded). I attended the University of Guyana where I obtained Bachelors of Social Sciences degrees in Sociology, and Law. I obtained a Masters Degree in Public Administration at Strayer University, Manassas Campus. In the United States, I obtained my teaching credentials through the Educate VA program. I am a fellow of the Centre of Hemispheric Defense Studies, located in Washington DC.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child can succeed.
