Mr. Andrew Wassum

My name is Andrew Wassum and I am the Director of Bands here at Osbourn High School.  I was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, where I participated heavily in my own school band programs.  I attended the Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University where I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Certificate in Saxophone Performance. I then attended the University of South Carolina where I earned a Master of Music degree in Music Performance.  I started my teaching career at James Kenan High School in North Carolina, where I was given the Beginning Teacher of the Year Award.  I am so happy to be back in my home state for my fourth year of teaching, and to be working with such an awesome group of students!  This year, I am excited to take the Band program at OHS even further!

The ensembles I direct at Osbourn include: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Advanced Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, Show Choir Band, Musical Pit Orchestra, and The Osbourn High School "Screaming Eagles" Marching Band.
