Hi! I'm Mrs. Nicole Lively and I have a Bachelor of Art Degree in Graphic Design from Marymount University. I also have a master's in Art Education from the University of Mary Washington. This is my sixth year teaching art at Osbourn High School. I teach Foundations of Art 1, Foundations of Art 2, Sculpture, and Painting.
In Foundations of Art 1, students will learn how to use art materials in a safe and responsible manner. The vocabulary and language of art. Different uses of media, methods, and techniques in art. Along with the elements of art, principles of design, and standards for art outlined for the state of Virginia SOLs.
In Foundations of Art 2, students will develop their technical and creative abilities in art. Lessons include drawing, painting, printmaking and creating sculptures, as well as looking at influential movements in art history. This class is a great opportunity for art lovers to explore and grow their portfolio.
In Sculpture, students will learn how to use art materials in a safe and responsible manner. The vocabulary and language of sculpture. As well as the different uses of media, methods, and techniques in sculpture.
In Painting, students will learn how to use painting materials in a safe and responsible manner. The vocabulary and language of color and paint. Different uses of painting media, methods, and techniques and the elements of art and the principles of design.
