Mrs. Lisa Oppenheim

I am excited to be serving as a full-time school counselor at Jennie Dean Elementary. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and my Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Arkansas State University. Previously, I was an elementary school teacher before becoming a school counselor. I have experience counseling all grade levels in K-12. I look forward to building relationships with my students and helping my students excel in all three areas: Academic, Personal/Social, and Career.

Mrs. Tammy Shaffer

I am honored to serve as one of the school counselors again this year. I graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  I then earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Virginia Tech.  As a School Counselor, I have worked in both Fairfax and, most recently, Fauquier County.

I love working with our Jennie Dean students, their families, and our staff. As a part of the school counseling program, I have the opportunity to teach valuable lessons to our students, work with students in small counseling groups, and counsel them individually as needed.

As a counselor, my goal is to support our students and assist them as they reach their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally and be a helpful resource to our families and staff.
