Mr. Justin Jou
Hello and welcome to my profile page. I am Mr. Jou, pronounced Joe, and I have been teaching English for five years. This is currently my third year at Osbourn. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in English Secondary Education. If you have any questions about this upcoming 2017-2018 school year please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.
Welcome Freshmen to the wonderful world of Osbourn High School. As you start your journey through high school I will be one of the many guiding forces helping you to become the young adults ready to take on the next step. We will be traversing five units throughout this school year: Short Story, Novel, Nonfiction, Drama, and Poetry. Below is a copy of my syllabus. Let's start off your high school career with a blast.
Congratulations on completing your first year! As we make our way through the second year we will be working towards building the skills that that you will need as you encounter the Reading and Writing SOLs in the 11th grade. This year will be more focused on writing, analyzing, and research in these following five units: Drama, Fiction, Nonfiction, Research, Poetry. The syllabus is below. I hope to have a great year with you all!

Journalism I is a yearlong course designed to teach students the basics of journalism and to prepare them for roles on the school newspaper or yearbook staff. The syllabus is posted below. I look forward to exploring all the stories that Osbourn has to offer with you!
