C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S, to all of our students who participanted this week in the Weems Elementary School Spelling Bee.
On Thursday January 23, 2020; the spelling bee rounds of the Weems Elementary School wide spelling bee commenced. Parents, teachers, fellow students and staff eagerly watched the group of participants step up one-by-one to the microphone and demonstrate their spelling prowess to the crowd. Prior to the event, students qualified for the main event during in-class spelling bees.
The rounds of the spelling bee included words from difficulty level one and level two bee words of the 2019-2020 School Spelling Bee Study lists.
All classroom winners 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place participants received a certificate of achievement, a school classroom spelling bee medal, and the top three winners of the school wide spelling received a trophy. The first place winner of the Weems Elementary Spelling Bee, Erick Morales, will participate in the 42nd Annual Prince William County Spelling Bee on March 10, 2020 at the George M. Hampton Middle School at 7:00 p.m.
