Mrs. Lise Jeffery

Welcome to my webpage! My name is Mrs. Jeffery and I have been teaching a variety of different fine art and technology classes at Osbourn High School for 20 years. I have also taught at a private art school in Chantilly on Sundays for 8 years. During my time at Osbourn, I have taught over 10 different courses within two departments (Fine Art and CTE). Some of the courses that I have taught include Foundations of Art 2, Communications Systems 1 & 2, Sculpture, and Exploratory Art. This year, I am very excited to be teaching Crafts 1 as well as Foundations of Art 2. I look forward to having your son or daughter in my class this year and I hope that they will enjoy the creative process and thus feel inspired to continue creating art long after the class is completed.

Foundations of Art  2

Foundations of Art 2 is a year-long, in-depth study of the Fine Arts. Students will expand and improve their artistic knowledge and skills by utilizing the creative processes learned in Foundations of Art 1. Students will complete artworks in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, printmaking, and drawing.

Crafts 1

This year long course is designed for students who wish to learn a variety of different crafts. Students develop an appreciation of hand craftsmanship by exploring the various techniques employed by different cultures around the world. Hand-eye coordination skills and focus are improved as students create a multitude of handmade items themselves. For each project, students will consider design elements and aesthetic attributes that will enhance their piece. Understanding how something is made, and why it is made that way is more vital to modern life than ever. Students are encouraged to provide some project materials.

Crafts  2

In this year long course, students will expand their knowledge of designing and making handmade projects by integrating the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. Students will further develop an appreciation for hand craftsmanship by exploring a new series of more complex handmade goods. Students are encouraged to provide some project materials for class.
