I have been the Art teacher at Dean since 1996. I earned a bachelor's degree in Art at Radford University. In my art lessons, I base the project for every grade level on the Art Standards of Learning. I have integrated the Core SOLs as well to strengthen students' learning through a visual perspective. It's exciting to see the children make connections in their classroom learning experience with what we do in the Art room. My goal is to make the Art room a place for creativity, fun, and make it a learning experience they will take with them after their elementary years.
