  • Message to Parents Regarding Hurricane Florence:

    Dear MCPS Parents:

Local news reports have shared information regarding the impact Hurricane Florence may have on our area.  The Virginia Department of Emergency Management informed us this morning that the brunt of the hurricane will likely impact the Tidewater (Virginia Beach) area for our state and other areas in Maryland.  Here, we could experience heavy rains that may cause some flooding and possible power outages, however, that may not occur until the weekend into early next week.

Please know that we are monitoring the forecasts and will work closely with our City emergency management personnel should the need arise.  If anything happens that could impact our school schedule; we will communicate with you using our regular inclement weather communication tools, including our phone/email notification system, MCPS and school websites, the MCPS mobile app (available in the App Store and Google Play), Facebook/Twitter and through the local media.  The school division is also implementing a new texting option.  If you have a mobile phone number listed in the system, you will receive a “welcome message” giving you the opportunity to “opt-out” of receiving future texts if you do not want to receive them.

Please monitor multiple sources to stay informed.  Also, you may review our inclement weather procedures at

    Thank you,
    Manassas City Public Schools

  • School Breakfast and Lunch Menus

Manassas City Public Schools is actively working to increase the usability of our websites for all visitors, which includes the removal of “portable document format” (PDF) files that do not comply with ADA accessibility standards and guidelines.

This process affects the monthly breakfast and lunch menus posted on all MCPS websites.  The menu options are now available through an online calendar and the MCPS app.  Printed menus are available at the schools in the main offices.  Thank you for your patience as we complete the conversion process.
